Who is Rebecca Chyenne Brock?
ARTIST STATEMENT
From history to mythology and even commenting on current culture art has been the long standing historical way to tell these stories visually. I have challenged myself to continue this visual record keeping through my own works. Using oil paint and linen panels I recall past classical artistic masters with my painting techniques and style while adding in a modern twist with my take on classic subject matter. I believe art is a defining voice in our culture. Art helps not only the painter but also the viewer explore concepts in society that may challenge the social norms or recall histories past. Through art society can be inspired to reach new heights and explore new ideas.
Brief Bio
Rebecca Chyenne Brock was born on December 3rd 1997 to two loving and supportive parents, Maida and David Brock, in New Jersey. At a young age Rebecca’s family moved to Ohio where she was raised during her formative years. During college at Utah State University Rebecca studied privately under a modern master of fine art in South Carolina. Graduating with honors in 2020 with a Bachelors degree in fine art emphasizing in painting and drawing with a minor in art history and museum studies Rebecca has continued her education all of the country with other modern masters of fine art. Rebecca is a continuous student as she pushers herself to becoming a modern master as well. Rebecca has travelled all over the United States as well aa Europe experiencing other cultures, viewpoints, and histories. With all of these life experiences up to now Rebecca is determined to share her personal beliefs and thoughts that have been formed based off of her past experiences.
